Help Share & Preserve Our Stories: Join Us!
The Chittenden County Historical Society is looking to add new Board and Committee Members. Founded in 1965, the CCHS is a non-profit, content-driven organization, meaning that we focus on sharing the stories of the County’s diverse people and businesses, its material culture and agriculture, environment and historical trends from its geological origins, through its heritage as the home of the Western Abenaki and through European settlement.
We do this through a lecture series that is held throughout the County, featuring a wide range of presenters, including Indigenous elders, professional and amateur historians, geologists and environmentalist, as well as hobbyists and other experts.
We also publish a Bulletin five times a year and, occasionally, books. We are looking for people with an interest in helping with digital and print publishing (website development, social media, editing/writing skills), public relations and marketing, as well as membership development. If you’re looking to gain experience in a new field, are a history buff, or just plain curious about this region of Vermont, contact Carolyn Gould at [email protected].
